#VOTY2023: …And The Winner Is…

November 18, 2023 by Randy Stern

The votes are in. The scores have been tabulated.  We now have a #VOTY2023.

Every year yields a different kind of #VOTY story. We had some electoral battles and some downright landslide wins. We had vehicles you did not predict that would get this award.

And, here we are again.

While Victory & Reseda’s content has a slight enthusiast’s edge, consumers actually read – and viewed videos on YouTube – to get ideas. You also engage with us their thoughts – positive and negative. We actually welcome this. In fact, we hope you voted for this year’s #VOTY2023.

As we said in the beginning, your vote counted. Now, we have a winner.

The 2023 Victory & Reseda Vehicle of The Year award winner – #VOTY2023 is…

The Ford Maverick

Following up its inaugural #VOTY, Ford’s compact unibody pickup truck follows in the footsteps of its battery-electric version of the world’s best-selling vehicle. The innovations alone signify what Ford had intentioned in this reclaimed space. Customers flocked to the promise of an affordable crew cab pickup truck that punches above its weight and opens up new opportunities in the marketplace.

From the get-go, the Maverick was offered with a hybrid driveline as standard. That flooded showrooms even before the first one arrived at them. Ford also added ideas to bring more excitement to the Maverick – such as adding the Tremor package for some rougher surfaces.

Ford developed the Maverick as a pickup truck in the same mold as the Ranger and the F-Series. The construction may be different, but for the owners who have one, they certainly are enjoying what the Maverick can do for them. It is the answer for those who would rather have something more maneuverable and easy to park than anything else in the pickup truck space.

Please watch our announcement video here:

With that said, Victory & Reseda wants to congratulate the Ford Motor Company on its second #VOTY win in-a-row – the first back-to-back #VOTY since 2016-17 for Volvo. We look forward to handing off the award to you in the near future! Perhaps, the 2024 Chicago Auto Show?
