Video: 2024 INEOS Grenadier
At the MAMA Spring Rally this past May, INEOS brought a few Grenadiers for us to drive. We took the opportunity to take one through its paces.
What is an INEOS Grenadier?
There's two stories to answer that question. One, the chairman of the global chemical company, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, wanted a Defender. He found the current unsuitable for what he wanted. Therefore, he established an automotive manufacturer to produce one. They currently produce the Grenadier at the old smart factory in France.
The other involves my automotive journalist colleagues Andy and Mercedes Lilienthal. Mercedes have been covering INEOS upon its inception. They took a Grenadier on this year's ALCAN 5000 up into the Arctic and back. That vehicle won its class with the Lilienthal behind the wheel.
