Sixty years after the first Ford Mustang debuted, the last pony car standing has gone through a massive evolution. While we wait – perhaps in vain – for a Shelby-massaged model, we have the Dark Horse as the highest performance version of this iconic coupe.

To see if it is a desirable horse to ride, we tasked our three-pedal expert – George – to master this 500-horsepower pony on the road and on Road America's four-plus mile road course.
