The #VOTY19 Victory Lap
The Kia Telluride was a story unto itself. It was the company’s entry into what would become a strong segment during this pandemic.

How many of us actually watched the game? You may know who won, but was there a play that stood out above all else?
The year.was unlike any other year. Yet it was like any other year. Which is the best way to describe 2021 in a nutshell.
Though it was not in my plans for this year, I wound up working the show again. This time, their media days wore the label called Automobility LA.
You might say that this year’s ballot may have justified using the term “Vehicle” instead of “Car” for #VOTY.
This has been my argument for years: Minivans (and MPVs) do a better job transporting maturing families than SUVs.
The subject was easy: The 2022 Kia Carnival. The newest MPV looked like a great subject too shoot, with its bold new looks and Kia's marketing push to not call it a minivan. We showed that there was definitely some design and functional alignment with its larger SUV models.
When you first announced that your fourth generation Carnival was coming to our market, you were not going to call it a "minivan." Instead, you called it an MPV. I get that in most of the markets the Carnival is sold that it is the designation for the vehicle. But…I’m confused.
I would say that their latest design language is the draw for the brand, but there’s more to that. It is all about execution – an overused word that describes how well they have successfully launched each new vehicle onto the marketplace.
