Spring Around The Corner: Upcoming Twin Cities Carmmunity Events
Coming soon… Photo by Randy Stern
The itching has been intense. Winter must now go away…
It has been a long winter. Here in Minnesota, we experienced more days below freezing than any winter in a good period of time. Air temperatures challenged braved souls as we only could pine for warmer days. The reminders of this blasted winter still exist with melted snow still clinging onto lawns waiting to burst into green.
Driving had been tough. Testing vehicles this winter may be beneficial for you on some level, but it certainly challenged the best of them. Icy, caked roads gave traction control systems a workout and tires a good excuse for scrutiny. Premium features, such as heated seats and steering wheels, provided relief from temperatures no human would want to be outside for.
Spring may be upon us here in Minnesota. It took a long time to get there, but we hope it would stick this time.
As we mentioned several times on here, V&R loves attending carmmunity events. It always happens when one car show season end while another one begins.
APRIL 4-6
ST CLOUD, MN – RIVER'S EDGE CONVENTION CENTER
CENTRAL MINNESOTA CAR SHOW
We are close to the end of the auto show circuit. Select dealers from the St. Cloud area set up shop for each brand for potential buyers to kick tires, open doors and dream. Do not expect manufacturer support or even a Ride & Drive, but enjoy some local flavor right in the heart of the state.
APRIL 5
CHANHASSEN, MN – AUTOMOTOPLEX
MN C&C
The event formerly known as Cars & Coffee is back! You get a mix of everything throughout the garage condo complex southwest of downtown Minneapolis. Some garages are open to see what's inside, but it is what's outside that counts. If Tyler and Luis lets your car in, you better come with your finest. Or, park it outside the gate.

COTTAGE GROVE, MN – MODERN AUTOMOTIVE PERFORMANCE
BOOST FOR BOOBIES
If you love your turbocharged ride – modified or not – and want to do something about breast cancer, then this is your event. This is a fundraiser in which the proceeds go to beast cancer charities. In fact, this event raised $69,362 so far since 2010. And your ride does not have be turbocharged. You just have to be down for the cause.

You have an awesome car. You want to do a track day, but never done one before. Heck, you might not even know how to drive a track! Here is your chance to get your car out on a track and learn how to drive on it. Just a couple of hours outside the Twin Cities and a nice town, at that! Great instructors, too!

We ran into these guys at the Paul Walker Memorial Cruise. They put on a good event and talked about what they do the rest of the year. If you love tuner culture, want to rock out and grab some food while checking out the cool cars – this is your place. You may have something to show off there…and it better be good!

EXCELSIOR, MN – EXCELSIOR COMMONS
10,000 LAKES CONCOURS D'ELEGANCE
Last year's inaugural event was a huge hit. V&R enjoyed the time spent by the participants and sponsors of this bespoke event that embodied a true Minnesota spirit. It is as we wanted this to happen all along! The second edition of the Concours is coming up – and you must attend! Where else would you find 110 years of automotive history in one beautiful place?

This is just a few of the events that are happening here in the Twin Cities during this spring. There will be plenty more. If you have an event that you want V&R to attend and cover, drop us a line using the Contact tab or leave a comment below. Randy will be there – camera, iPhone and all.
See you when the air finally gets to tolerable temperatures!
